The episode in which 100 being the ending seems more and more realistic, lots of tryhard social network lamestars got dupped by Ja Rule and his doomed Bahamian luxury music outing and the Seth Rogen/Lonely Island flick that might share a similar premise, we try to make sense of unions and the impending WGA strike, lots of Disney flicks get dates, Time Warner’s DC streaming service, and Amazon’s Echo Look. Plus, Jeff Goldblum in Jurassic World 2, Logan going black and white, Night Trap turns 25, M. Night’s Unbreakable sequel, what David Fincher, Damien Chazelle, Ang Lee, and Paul Verhoeven are working on next, Innaritu on VR, Abu Dhabi’s Warner Bros World, social network holidays, and deets on Netflix’s next Adam Sandler flick.
Dollar Reviews 035: The Discovery
Netflix releases are hit or miss with people, and that is exactly what Charlie McDowell’s The Discovery is for us, undoubtedly culminating in one of our most heated clashes – which is fitting for a film regarding explorations of the afterlife (check the AFDM for uncensored dialogue). Steve also caught Malick’s Song to Song (27:50) and Gremlins 2 (36:00), while I experienced Ubisoft’s social VR game Werewolves Within (43:20), Sly Cooper 2: Band of Thieves (52:08), and binged on Kendrick Lamar, while sharing my latest Goodwill and LEGO hauls.

The episode in which our hero from Bulworth and Dick Tracy finds himself in a sticky situation, the passing of Bill Paxton, the state of Playstation VR, Hellboy, Nightwing, and Devon Sawa?! Steve caught the apparently similar Get Out and A Cure for Wellness, while I have had HEALTH’s Disco 3 on repeat while exploring Thumper (PSVR). Plus, Netflix looking very Bright (so we try to calculate its money pool), 5G tests are coming this year, and VR in space!

The week in which we only cover politics via SNL and Shia LaBoeuf, gamers face more delays as E3 goes public, Jay and Silent Bob are getting rebooted, several big directors have new projects, and Star Wars is landing in two big ways. I saw The Lego Batman Movie when I wasn’t busy becoming obsessed with collecting Lego Dimensions or playing Day of the Tentacle Remastered, while Steve caught Vertigo in 70mm and VR treasure, The Lawnmower Man. Plus, Apple, Facebook, and Viacom switch up their TV approaches, Halloween is getting another reboot (but we are excited about it), Jack Nicholson is coming out of hiding, the Terms of Endearment black remake, changes The Academy should make, Oculus is shuddering its demo stations, and the advent of underwater VR.

Debt to Cinema 063: Dick Tracy (1990)
Dick Tracy is a peculiar beast – a comic book adaptation and an art film, a promotional tie-in machine and slice of auteur cinema. Everything Warren Beatty, the biggest movie star on the planet at the time, does here from a stylistic standpoint is fascinating, its just a shame its wasted on a generic story.

Plus, Sony’s Uncharted adaptation, Rambo, Zelda Fitzgerald, the continual stupidity of Cupertino, Twitch has a cooking show now, and lots of HTC Vive info.
