Debt to Cinema 050: Kindergarten Cop
This week’s selection was originally Billy Madison to coincide with the beginning of the school year, but I vetoed that pick and offered Rodney Dangerfield’s Back to School instead. Steve decided a fourth option was best and opted for Arnold Schwarzenegger’s 1990 kiddie classic for reasons explained in the episode. Its equal parts heart warming and WTF, but mostly a fun, wild ride of genre blending, nostalgic importance.

Dollar Reviews 025: Ghostbusters (2016)
Despite telling ourselves, and each other, that we wouldn’t see Paul Feig’s Ghostbusters, we caught the she-make anyway. Also, Steve saw 1988’s Uninvited (34:28), I trounced around Goodwill and started The CW’s Crazy Ex-Girlfriend (39:50), terrified myself with Scare PewDiePie (41:36), and listened to the new Avalanches (43:40) and Blood Orange (46:05) albums. Finally Steve caught Tickled (47:32) which leads into a great conversation about documentary filmmaking.

The episode in which Amazon begins offering podcast content through Audible, weird tales related to Pokemon Go’s insane popularity, the Counter Strike: GO YouTube betting scandal, and Sulu is now a gay Star Trek character (which segues into a conversation about remakes). Plus, a fun convo about screen resolution and consumer apathy, Warner Bros siding with Netflix for TV and Amazon for movies, and The Russo Bros adapting The Warriors for Hulu.
