Plus, the future of the living room, more news on the PS4K, The Twilight Zone returning as interactive media, Paramount’s all-star writers room for the shared Hasbro universe, blockbuster fatigue, and internet response to whitewashing.

The episode in which North Carolina is cut off from porn, AMC Theaters let the internet scare them away from making smartphone friendly auditoriums, Fandango is changing the ticketing game, Avatar is now getting 4 sequels, Mark Rylance is Steven Spielberg’s new favorite actor, Pokemon might get the live action treatment, and the Loch Ness Monster was found. Plus, we dedicate a section just to superhero news (#Batfleck), speculate about Alphabet’s Sidewalk Labs, Sony’s Emoji movie doesn’t sound horrible, Star Trek Beyond in Barco Escape, another Fahrenheit 451 adaptation, and the return of Warren Beatty.

The episode in which my car gets broken into again, The Muppets are playing Outside Lands, Seth Rogen is adapting another comic book for TV, Warners has decided in favor of more DC instead of risks, Marvel is going to Freeform and Sony, while not staying true to itself, reactions to Rogue One’s first trailer, Starz joins the OTT train, and 4K UHD Blu-rays are becoming a clearer picture. Plus, sports broadcasting on Twitter and Yahoo/the latter being acquired, VR being used for real world applications, Pharrell is producing Hidden Figures, Charlize Theron re-teaming with past directors, and Caitlyn Jenner appearing on Transparent.

Ripped straight from the headlines of Two Cents 040, I made Steve watch what he basically claims is the cinematic equivalent of waterboarding. This is our most divisive episode yet and probably the most telling of our personalities (followed by Anomalisa’s AFDM). Consider this a warm up for Bio-Dome.

The week in which Tesla goes mainstream, Warner Bros scrambles to make their DC Extended Universe viable, the final Back to the Future Ride is closing, Fox has created an Alien Day, Final Fantasy XV is actually being released, Sony’s 4K HDR video marketplace is live, Starz and Showtime try the binge model, HBO is adapting a Gillian Flynn novel, and Fox is putting their relationship with the MLB to good use. Plus, viewing your StubHub seat and saving cats in VR, Amazon Prime going monthly, a Sicario sequel, Jonah Hill is trying directing, several re-teamings, and Marti Noxon is making major moves.

The episode in which not only Batman v Superman upset the critics, but DC is Rebirth-ing their comics again, Hollywood might boycott Georgia, Midnight Rider’s director has been let out of jail, Steve talks about MoviePass, Hulk Hogan/Erin Andrews and the future of The First Amendment, and a man was arrested over Freddy Got Fingered. Plus, Pornhub and Hulu have gone VR, Vizio has reinvented the smart TV, we dream up the ultimate digital movie watching experience, Taylor Kitsch is now a writer/director, the two sides of black movies, and some TV stuff you probably won’t listen long enough to hear.
Two Cents 037: Co-host Switcheroo (w/Scream 101)
The episode in which I was lucky Brennan from Scream 101 Podcast joined me because Steve fell asleep before recording, HBO isn’t sending Game of Thrones screeners out anymore, the 21 Jump Street/Men in Black flick is still a thing, Sony is making a standalone Venom franchise, I talk cool additions to the Amazon Echo line (and Brennan has first hand experiences), and Universal Japan is making a Nintendo Land. Plus, VR is coming to Six Flags and McDonalds, I do my Michael Keaton impression, MAX LANDIS, a WWE sequel to Surf’s Up, and the continuing adventures of Steven Soderbergh’s “retirement.”

The episode in which Steve tries to guess the Oscar winners, I give my critique of the ceremony/coverage, stunt performers are lobbying for their own category, #JusticeForFlint did well despite its counter programming, the FBI nabbed one of the screener pirates, we talk about the R-rated comic book movies, China might buy a stake in Paramount, and Netflix will start streaming in HDR. Plus I continue my fascination with VR, especially in terms of new developments (Facebook’s dynamic streaming/Google leveraging Project Tango), Ready Player One found its lead, Fox moves things around, we talk Sam Raimi because he is making World War III, Pacific Rim 2, we talk about Disney movies, Amazon is trying new things, and Netflix has found new talent.
