Remember those teen films from your childhood you couldn’t seem to get enough of? Just the title on the TV guide would get you excited. It didn’t matter where you tuned in, just being in the presence of the characters made you feel a certain way. Well, despite how awesome the journey is here, this sadly is one of those films, but one however, that lost its luster along the nostalgia highway.
The week in which the show gets a complete overhaul, beginning with a new section where we keep tabs on past news items (Dreamworks Animation, James Wan/Aquaman, Yoga Hosers vs MPAA), Hulu (and maybe Youtube) are joining the OTT live TV game, Magic Mike Live is coming to Las Vegas, Batfleck is exec producing Justice League, Disney finally found their Young Han Solo, Universal adds another A-list monster to its universe, Lebron James is finally making a Space Jam sequel, and Kodak is giving film stock to kickstarter campaigns. Plus, the Oculus Rift is available at Best Buy, Max Landis has an idea for a fifth Scream movie, and Andrew Garfield is starring in the neo noir follow up to It Follows.
The episode in which I was lucky Brennan from Scream 101 Podcast joined me because Steve fell asleep before recording, HBO isn’t sending Game of Thrones screeners out anymore, the 21 Jump Street/Men in Black flick is still a thing, Sony is making a standalone Venom franchise, I talk cool additions to the Amazon Echo line (and Brennan has first hand experiences), and Universal Japan is making a Nintendo Land. Plus, VR is coming to Six Flags and McDonalds, I do my Michael Keaton impression, MAX LANDIS, a WWE sequel to Surf’s Up, and the continuing adventures of Steven Soderbergh’s “retirement.”
