Two Cents 085: Oscars So WTF

The episode in which our hero from Bulworth and Dick Tracy finds himself in a sticky situation, the passing of Bill Paxton, the state of Playstation VR, Hellboy, Nightwing, and Devon Sawa?! Steve caught the apparently similar Get Out and A Cure for Wellness, while I have had HEALTH’s Disco 3 on repeat while exploring Thumper (PSVR).  Plus, Netflix looking very Bright (so we try to calculate its money pool), 5G tests are coming this year, and VR in space!

Two Cents 053: Enter The Void

The episode in which Steve’s roommates are celebrating our Independence Day, The Academy has opened its doors to diverse new talents, Lionsgate is buying Starz, MoviePass is playing with its subscription model, we speculate China’s role in the blockbusters to come, The Arrowverse might have just gotten a lot bigger, and the latest publicity stunt for Ghostbusters has me optimistic about Sony’s future. Plus, Jesus VR – The Story of Christ, The Olympics in VR, Tyrese joins Transformers 5, fun facts about Steven Spielberg, Apple’s patent for blocking camera usage, and more!

Two Cents 036: Leap Day Crusade

The episode in which Steve tries to guess the Oscar winners, I give my critique of the ceremony/coverage, stunt performers are lobbying for their own category, #JusticeForFlint did well despite its counter programming, the FBI nabbed one of the screener pirates, we talk about the R-rated comic book movies, China might buy a stake in Paramount, and Netflix will start streaming in HDR. Plus I continue my fascination with VR, especially in terms of new developments (Facebook’s dynamic streaming/Google leveraging Project Tango), Ready Player One found its lead, Fox moves things around, we talk Sam Raimi because he is making World War III, Pacific Rim 2, we talk about Disney movies, Amazon is trying new things, and Netflix has found new talent.

Two Cents 031: #OscarsSoWhite

The episode in which we used a hashtag in the title so we never have to talk about this again, China continues to take hold in Hollywood, Netflix crosses 75 million subscribers, HBO goes 100% streaming in Spain, Amazon and A24 buy up Sundance, Rob Cohen is making a natural disaster/heist flick, Greta Gerwig is trying the director’s chair, Labyrinth is getting a reboot, Tarantino universe tidbits, Star Wars Episode VIII moves to Christmas, Kevin Smith made a pot dispensary pilot, Judd Apatow gets another TV show, and I accidentally placed a cool Netflix sci-fi movie announcement at the end.
