After giving the many films we’d each seen much thought, Steve and I finally wrote down our best of the year lists. We start the show off with our honorable mentions (00:46), move into some fun awards (08:16), then get to the main event, our top 10 (33:49).
The week we mutually review an all time high four films together: Anomalisa (0:03:36), The Revenant (0:14:25), Slow West (0:32:28), and Mississippi Grind (0:39:41). Also on the docket are The Voices (0:50:49), Dances With Wolves (0:56:18), The Good Dinosaur – again, because I finally saw it (1:16:26), and The Computer Wore Tennis Shoes (1:31:21).
This week we managed to review a few things besides Star Wars beginning with a rewatch of The Good Dinosaur, Hotel Transylvania 2 (10:09), McFarland USA (16:44), Paper Towns (19:14), Mistress America (31:44), Knock Knock (37:17), Legend (46:22), Black Rain (51:43), and some VR content (57:19)
The episode in which we announce the reviews section of Two Cents is becoming the new Dollar Reviews, Amazon is rumored to offer premium content through Instant Video, Yoga Hosers is playing Sundance, Gods of Egypt’s lack of diversity, J-Law wanting to be a director, and Netflix’s next theatrical releases. Plus, reviews for Cop Car, The Guest, The Night Before, Hot Tub Time Machine 2, The Good Dinosaur, Creed, Tom Sawyer, The Dirty Dozen, Tangerine, Bound, True Story, Turbo Kid, and Spike Lee’s Oldboy.
